Fishermans Knot tying The Fishermans's Knot, used for joining fishing lines, snooding, etc., together, consists of a thumb-knot on each end embracing the other line. Sometimes the knots are kept a little apart, and a whipping put on round the double parts-this makes the knot more elastic.
